Ten Things to Know About Teaching Leisure: 1-hour talk or 2-hour workshop

A Family That Has Fun Together… 1-hour talk
Created for all types of parents with all kinds of families, this talk focuses on how to re-establish positive and fruitful family time, spend more quality time together, and enjoy each other’s company. They Are Probably Tired or Hungry: 1-hour talk and 2-hour workshop
This was created for parent groups with kids from 2 to 12 years of age. Our kids are people, and people are complex. Our kids might be grumpy, angry, or misbehaving for all kinds of reasons. But poor sleep and feeling hungry can cause problems on their own or make other problems so, so significantly worse. This talk provides an overview of how we promote the best sleep and eating habits for our kids!
My Toddler is an Alien: 1-hour talk
This talk was created for parents with toddlers or soon-to-be toddlers. It helps parents understand why toddlers do the things that they do, how to establish contact, make peace, and form a new, happy bond with this terribly cute and mischievous creature that has replaced their sweet little baby, and more.
You’ve Got This! How to Address 5 Common Preschool Parenting Problems: 1-hour talk
This talk is an overview of evidence-based strategies, positive parenting perspectives, and some entertaining stories that will leave tired preschool parents refreshed and ready to implement a new parenting approach for issues like bedtime battles, managing tantrums, and power struggles (don’t try to win a fight with a four-year-old).
Incentives are Actually Pretty Great: 2-hour workshop
We created this workshop for parents of children ages 2-12. There are a lot of mixed messages out there about rewards these days, including the idea that rewarding your child makes you a bad parent. This talk will encourage you to disregard groups that are overly judgmental of basically all parenting styles. We then provide an overview of HOW reward systems work according to science, what to do, and what not to do. When reward systems don’t work or produce negative outcomes, they’re not being implemented correctly. Become a reward system wiz and see how it can help boost joy and family functioning!
Teaching Kids An-y-thing; One Step at a Time: 1-hour talk or 2-hour workshop
This offering was created for practitioners or parents. This talk reviews the concept and practice of behavior chaining. Be an ace at breaking down any complex task into its component parts and creating a chain of behavior. Make learning fun! Expert tips and strategies galore. Teach your six-year-old to clean his room, teach your ten-year-old to independently do her homework, and teach your four-year-old to brush his teeth thoroughly.
School Can Be Cool When Parents Rule: 1-hour talk
This talk was created for parents to help them best support their kids in school. It will discuss how to best work with teachers and administrators to have the best outcomes for your child, how to lessen the contrast between school and home, and how to set the stage for a love, or at least a solid like, of learning.
