Your child is struggling…
The emotional outbursts are crippling how your family functions.
You have tried a million times to get your child to be more organized, to listen, and to problem-solve, but nothing works!
You wake up in the morning saying, “Today I am going to stay calm,” but your child is making you late AGAIN, and you are just so frustrated that you lose it not 20 minutes into the day.
Your child can’t seem to plan, solve problems, stay organized, be on time…
The meltdowns are making you feel like a bad parent.
How did things go so wrong? You want to enjoy your children and this time with them, but it feels frustrating.
You find yourself avoiding time with your child and recognize that you constantly have to correct or nag because, otherwise, nothing gets done.
Time for a new approach.
Some kids just struggle more with the skills that fall under the categories of social/emotional regulation or executive functioning.
At GJC, we take a behavioral approach to help understand specific areas for growth and make improvements.
After determining specific areas of focus, we work with your child to strengthen these skills. We also work with you (and teachers, if applicable) to determine how to best practice these skills throughout the day. Finally, we provide recommendations on how you can best create an environment that better accommodates the skills your child is working on.
Sessions with your child are offered in 10-session batches. After each session, you will receive an update and recommendations for following up. Learning occurs in the context of games and fun activities. We want this to be a fun way for your child to grow!
